American scientists have developed a new weight loss agent, the adipotide, tested with success on monkeys. It would be very effective.
If clinical trials confirm his safety, the adipotide can help combat obesity. In the tests conducted on obese monkeys, this weight loss agent to reduce their weight by 11% in just weeks.
This treatment prevents the blood supply of fat cells. In doing so, it allows to reduce adipose tissues in the body, thus reducing body mass index and waist.
“The development of this treatment to humans would provide a non-surgical approach to reduce fat and an alternative to the slimming drugs”, explains the investigator Renata Pasqualini, the University of Texas, Houston, and author of the study.Prior tests on mice have shown that these rodents, the adipotide permitted to reduce 30% fat.
By decreasing the fatty tissues, this agent also helps to reduce the risk of developing other problems such as diabetes, hypertension and some cancers.
The results of this research have been published in the scientific journal Science Translational Medicine.
